Start both the hourglasses together. But don't start measuring the time until 7 minutes glass sand completely trasfers to the other side. Now 4 minutes can be measured from the second jar as 4minutes sand is left in that. Now reverse only the second jar so as to measure 11 more minutes
4+11=15 minutes is measured.

Allow both the glasses to transfer the sand from one side to another. The first glass transfer is done means 7 minutes over. Now reverse only the first glass. After 4 minutes(ie)the transfer is complete in second glass reverse it.Now after 3 more minutes the first glass would have completed its transfer second time(ie)14 minutes measured. Now 8 minutes sand will be there in the upper portion of the second glass as 3minutes sand is used. Now without reversing the first glass reverse only the second glass to measure 3 minutes. So 14+3=17 minutes is measured. Now reverse only the first glass to add 7 more minutes. Now 17+7=24 minutes is measured.
